Stephanie Bennett recently moved to New Zealand, has made over 4 films through her new company, Rongo Productions Ltd. and is developing several other film projects mentioned on the website. Bennett started her film making career in 1982 producing the first ever “rockumentary”, THE COMPLEAT BEATLES, establishing her company Delilah Films. THE COMPLEAT BEATLES, which sold over one million copies, set the standard for Delilah music documentaries and concert films to follow including the feature film “HAIL! HAIL! ROCK N ROLL: The Chuck Berry Story.

Following this landmark success, Bennett established close relationships with musicians globally. Artists such as The Beach Boys, Joni Mitchell, The Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry and Roy Orbison, began entrusting Bennett with their stories. Bennett then produced, Endless Harmony: The Beach Boys, Women Of Heart And Mind: The Joni Mitchell Story and The Everly Brothers Reunion Concert and The Everly Brothers: Rock ‘n Roll Odyssey. Soon after Bennett teamed with Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards and “Ray” director Taylor Hackford to capture Chuck Berry’s unprecedented story, the Universal feature film release “Chuck Berry: Hail, Hail Rock ‘n Roll”. With the advent of Home Video and Cable Television, Bennett created the innovative and successful Cinemax Sessions for Home Box Office. The brainchild of Stephanie and HBO the Cinemax series began with Blue Suede Shoes: Carl Perkins & Friends featuring Ringo, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmonds and many other rock stars. It was the pilot for a series that went on to reach worldwide acclaim with the Bennett produced Roy Orbison: Black And White Night, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, KD Lang, JD Souther and T-Bone Burnett, backed by James Burton and Elvis Presley’s famous band.

Stephanie Bennett has produced over 50 documentaries and concerts for PBS, BBC, MTV, VHI and HBO. Many of these shows have been distributed world wide on DVD and television internationally. Other artists include Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, to mention a few. As the world continues to lose its musical icons, Bennett has stepped up her contribution to the preservation of the American music heritage. Shows such as Ray Charles Live 1991 preserve the memory of our most legendary music artists.
With the advancement of High Definition television (HDTV), Bennett is at it again on the technology forefront, producing shows for HD broadcasters In Demand and HDNet, followed by releases on DVD. “Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire: Live At The Greek Theatre”, produced by Delilah Films and released by Image Entertainment Inc. was certified platinum less than two months after its release. She also produced 12 hour-long shows for the HDNet TV network, PBS and DVD featuring artists including Duncan Sheik.
